PRESS RELEASE
December 19, 2008
Although the economy is slow, shoppers are still willing to donate to a worthy cause. Potential Inc. raised almost $600 participating in the Holiday Gift Wrap Program and from generous donations at the Oxford Valley Mall in Langhorne, PA from December 12, 2008 to December 15, 2008. Several shoppers stated that they wanted to donate because they had a friend or family member who has a child with autism. Potential was able to sign up a total of 18 volunteers to wrap holiday gifts in the mall. 60 % of the proceeds were donated to Potential Inc. and the other 40% will be donated to a charity supported by the Oxford Valley Mall.
Potential Inc. is a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide the highest quality interventions for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. They utilize current research in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) which includes an analysis of Verbal Behavior (VB) to improve communication, behavior, toileting, social skills and more. For more information about Potential Inc., please visit their website at www.potentialinc.org or call their clinic at 888-AUTISM-0.
The Oxford Valley Mall offered several non-profits agencies the opportunity to raise awareness and fundraise for their cause during the holiday season. This is the first year of the program and it is offered on a first-come basis to non-profits. The Oxford Valley Mall provided wrapping material and designated gift-wrapping stations. 40% of the total net sales were donated to Simon Youth Foundation, the charity educational organization which is supported by the Oxford Valley Mall.
